Hello, I am new, but I see that means little when the last post was two years ago. I live in Gravelbourg, SK and I have a keen interest in competitive chess. I have had a response from John McIntyre and look forward to hearing from him again regarding tournaments and other events. I see there has not been a Saskatchewan open since 2009(?). I was wondering if this is due to lack of interest or financial reasons or??. I would gladly play in a SK open if there was one and I believe I could drum up a little more interest from my community in the event (maybe 3 or 4 players). But is this pointless? Will anyone actually see this post? I really would like to makes some efforts for SK chess and am willing to travel to Regina to do so. Please, if even all you can offer is (positive) advice or information as how to proceed it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Sven
